As it turned out my little finger still hasn't healed and riding a motorcycle will be impossible for another 6 weeks. That means that I won't be riding a bike anymore this year :(

Jeroen, I have found your blog via Google while looking for XJ900F information. I have found it really helpful. I saw a low mileage (20k miles/c.30k km)example today that I am thinking of buying to replace my '82 Suzuki GSX 750. Your blog has convinced me that the Yamaha would be a good buy, but would I miss the big brute force that the Suzuki seems to have?
Yep, there's nothing brute force about the XJ ;)
It's a perfect touring/commute machine, but it's a bit sluggish.
Test drive one first.
