Haven't seen my bikes for a week now and decided to check them out today. The Pan was fine, regretfully the XJ has a punctured rear tire which looses pressure and the shaft is losing a bit of oil. Next week I'm gonna call the garage and have it fixed. Maybe let them give the XJ a service job too. It's been a while...

great account
hi Jeroen, also have a XJ900, but a 1983 model R. In Australia they came in white with red and blue accent stripes on the tank and side covers. I really like the white and silver colour scheme on yours, as it looks very classy. We have owned ours since 2001 and have found it to be very easy to live with. As far as the rear tailight bulbs are concerned, I've had the same troubles, but am trying a rubber mount for the tailight itself as I suspect that it receives far too much vibration over the bumps etc. We have done 30000km since 2001, and really have not had any real troubles. I have owned a lot of bikes over the years (been licenced since 1985), but I think that the XJ900r-f is probably the best all rounder I've had for sure. They are also very capable 2-up, and comfortable too. I hope to send you some photos of our bike, as I enjoyed the ones you have. In Australia we have the opposite conditions to you I think, and probably a lot more sunshine to use our bikes in general. Thanks for such a great long term site, talk to you soon. John and Kathryn Kerlin.
